Our professionally designed and licensed daycare centre accommodates 6 infants, 10 toddlers, 8 junior preschoolers (or an additional 10 toddlers), and 16 preschool children. In 2023, we underwent significant interior renovations and redesigned our space to elevate the learning experience. Each classroom has been meticulously crafted to foster optimal learning environments, reflecting our commitment to thoughtful preparation and planning.

In 2024, we expanded and renovated our playground to provide a unique natural playscape. This premium, hand-crafted playground is designed to enhance curiosity and imagination, promoting a love for the environment and healthy development for all children. At Little Beginnings, we proudly continue as a locally owned and operated centre deeply rooted in our community. Originally founded by Kristy and Sebastien Garneau, our facility is thoughtfully designed to cater to young minds, offering a secure, peaceful setting where children can play, learn, and grow.

As the new owners, Rachel and Shawn McIntosh, we bring our shared experiences of growing up in Kincardine and our commitment to quality childcare. With Rachel’s educational background and extensive teaching experience, including a double degree in Arts and Education, we are dedicated to building upon this legacy.

Our foundation is deeply rooted in education. Our owners bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with degrees in Arts, Education, and Emergency & Security Management, along with over a decade of teaching experience and additional qualifications. Our Director of Operations is a Fanshawe University Professor for Early Childhood Educators, further strengthening our commitment to excellence.

We pride ourselves on our outstanding team of educators, supporting their continued education while they work at our facility. Our goal is to deliver a thriving program that combines the expertise of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) with an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT). This partnership enhances our educational programs, ensuring exceptional care and development for every child.

We believe in the harmonious blend of early education, individual growth and community spirit. Our vision is to nurture each child’s unique abilities and interests while fostering a sense of belonging and interconnectedness. 

Our curriculum evolves with children’s interests, promoting engagement and excitement in learning. We emphasize the Four Frames of learning from the “How Does Learning Happen?” document, integrating unique methods like Sign Language in the Infant Program and the Heggerty Program for Toddlers and Preschoolers. Our STEAM-inspired environment is rich in provocations for learning.
